- Centrally manage security. Pro Workgroup allows you to centrally configure and control important security settings for all managed users and computers in your organization.
- Require strong authentication. With Pro Workgroup, you can centrally define how users in your organization are required to verify their identity when logging on to the computer or to applications.
- Handle emergencies. You can provide temporary access codes to users who are locked out of their own computers to prevent disrupting business activities. Or, you can restore encryption keys and user passwords in case they are lost.
- Show compliance. Pro Workgroup includes detailed audit logs of what happens on the computers and on the server, to help show compliance or investigate suspicious events.

Minimum requirements, easy management
Pro Workgroup requires minimum infrastructure so that it can be deployed in any environment. Completely self-contained, Pro Workgroup requires no changes to the existing environment. After setup, IT Managers can manage security and authentication for all the organization from an easy-to-use, intuitive browser-based management console.
Requirements
Pro Workgroup is based on client and server software.
- The client software supports most Windows operating systems, including XP, Vista and Win7 (both 32 and 64 bits). If you want to deploy Password Manager, Internet Explorer (version 6 or later) and Firefox (version 2 or later) are supported. If you have computers with HP ProtectTools 2010, you do not need to deploy any client software.
- The server software can be run on a simple computer or on an actual server. If you run it on a computer, Windows Vista or Windows 7 are required. If you run it on a server, you can choose between Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008.
Management
Pro Workgroup comes with an easy-to-use, intuitive browser-based console that can be displayed through a normal browser with no need of a separate installation. From there, you can:
- Manage computers and users
- Provide emergency recovery
- Control settings for encryption key backup
- Manage licenses
