Security
Box® Mail
|
|
Security
BOX® Mail is a security software for
mailers, it grants the digital
signature and the encryption of sent
and received mails. Easy to install
and with no impact on the working
habits, Security BOX® Mail brings a
strong security level for all types of
email exchange whether internal or
external to the company. Respecting
the S/Mime and X 509 standards,
Security BOX® Mail not only grants
the highest security level available
today, but also remains interoperable
with every solution respecting S/Mime.

A
transparent use
Fully
integrated in your mailer software, Security
BOX® Mail is used in an intuitive way
through two buttons
which allows the user to protect his emails
by signing them, by encrypting them or both
simultaneously.
Storing
encrypted emails
Security
BOX® encrypts sent messages and stores them
encrypted in your mailbox. Therefore, as
long as you are not connected to Security
BOX®, no one will be able to read you
encrypted emails that you received, even
after reading them.

Sending
an encrypted and/or signed message
Each
time a message is sent (and if you haven’t
used the two buttons ),
Security BOX® suggests the encryption or
signature of the email. It is also possible
to avoid this question by automating the
security options for the recipients (for
example all emails sent to XXXXX@msi-sa.fr
will systematically be encrypted and signed).

Pre selections and Prohibitions
Security
BOX®Mail allows to pre select the security
options of a message depending on the
recipient. For example, you can
automatically sign and encrypt all messages
to your headquarters, which will automate
the encryption for these destinations and
grant an automatic security.
In the same fashion, it will be possible to
forbid some destinations.
Decryption
delegation
This
option allows another person (for example
your assistant) to decrypt and read your
messages when you’re not there. You must
then delegate your personal key (if you only
have one key) or your encryption key (if you
have two separate keys to sign and encrypt).
CRLs
(Certificate Revocation List) management
A
certificate is valid for a defined period.
Once expired, it naturally becomes invalid.
It is sometimes necessary to revoke a
certificate (make it invalid) before its
expiration date (notably when a PC or a
smartcard are stolen, when the password or
PIN number are corrupted). To know if your
correspondent’s certificate is revoked
(and therefore not send him a message with
this key), it is necessary to have a
software such as Security BOX® Mail which
supports the CRL function.
Administration
To
ease the management of accounts, it is
possible to administrate Security BOX® Mail
and configure several security options such
as :
-
force
the encryption and/or the signature of
an email to a correspondent or a domain,
-
forbid
the sending of an email to some
correspondent or domain,
-
configure
the security profile of the user
(secured email account, encryption
algorithm, user’s keys…).
Interoperability
