Security Box® SHL
	Security BOX® SHL is a security software, allowing to secure Web communications over the internet or intranet through well-proven cryptographic devices. This high performance solution is particularly well-adapted to the following protection needs : 1. Intranet, 2. Administrative teleprocedures, order forms, subscriptions, ... 3. Corporate Extranet.

SHL Solution is made of a security server which is coupled with a Web server, SHL Gateway plus a client software program plugged-in with a Web browser, SHL Proxy.
These two programs interface the navigator/Web server link so as to inset cryptographic security services (authentication, integrity, confidentiality).

Server solution 

SHL gateway operates on transferred data between a Web server and an internet navigator. In this way SHL is fully complementary to a Firewall.
This security gateway allows mutual management of security problems for several sites (each site being nevertheless configured in a particular way), frees the Web servers from heavy algorithmic computation and simplifies processing by using more homogeneous security rules.
It also allows specific processing of security problems by isolating them from the development of Web pages.
Once Security BOX® SHL’s parameters are set by a security administrator or so, the gateway guarantees a high level of security owing to authentication, sealing and encryption functions which remain generic (*.html, *gif, *.*), and will not impact future evolutions of the site.

Enhanced processing effectiveness

SHL Gateway has been designed to process a great number of security sessions; simultaneous requests, and requests in progress (reception, routing to the Web server, waiting for answers from the Web server, routing of the answers…), over several Web servers at a time.
Its mutli-thread conception allows taking full advantage of multi-processor machines and connection flows. Requests are therefore processed without contention or retention owing to a hit-on-the-fly routing.
SHL Gateway is composed of only one Unix daemon or NT service process, but it is possible to launch several processes on the same machine (subject to the number of purchased licenses).

Compatibility with the internet standards

SHL Gateway is compatible with all the Web servers on the market (Microsoft IIS, Netscape Server, Lotus Domino, Apache, ...) and the different content technologies in force (Javascript, Java-Server, ActiveX, ASP, etc.). 
Respecting the http norm, SHL is entirely compatible with all the Firewalls, routers, proxies used in the internet world. SHL can be installed and used without any modification of the Web sites on the Gateway side, nor any configuration on the Proxy side. 

Solutions for client workstation 

SHL Proxy
SHL Proxy is downloaded and configured automatically with the Web browsers on the machine when installed. It then works automatically when it detects a secured communication with an SHL Gateway server. The software then starts up the required security services (authentication request, data integrity/sealing, automatic and hit on the fly encryption of the exchanged data).

This free software both works with PC and MAC and allows strong authentication by “password” using a dynamic or ‘pass-ticket’ technology, to guarantee anti-replay authentication on the network.

SHL Proxy works with all the Web browsers on the market (Microsoft,  Netscape,…).


Security BOX® SHL Pro
Security BOX® SHL Pro is an evolved version of Security BOX®SHL Proxy, allowing a strong authentication with RSA certificate and coherent with the Security BOX® Business Solutions range. 
SHL Pro allows to benefit from a single authentication (Single log-on) for all the Security BOX® Business Solutions suite.
Therefore, the user will only have to authenticate once (by password or smartcard).
